Rare Historical Royal Document to Auction
A rare historical document which charts the genealogy of the British Royalty is set to be auctionned tomorrow- and it could fetch as much as £50,000.
The document, known as a Roger of St Albans Roll, is written in Latin on calf skin and dates back to the 1500s . It is one of just 13 left in the world and is the only one currently available on the open market.
The scroll charts royalty from the legends of Hely and Cassilbellan in the first century BC right up until the end of the Wars of the Roses in 1485, with specific mention of King Richard III.
It is due to auction with Dominic Winter auction house tomorrow among a collection of books, maps, manuscripts and other items.
