Sir William Oliphant Hutchison's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II could bring up to £50,000 ($73,000) at Bonhams this April as part of their annual Scottish sale.

Hutchison assumed the position of Scotland’s premier society portraitist after the retirement of Sir James Gunn.

A number of Hutchison's works appear in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery including another study of the Queen from 1956 while his famed portrait of the author Dorothy. L. Sayers hangs in London's National Portrait Gallery.

The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is set to be offered with an estimate of £30,000-50,000 ($44,000-$73,000) at Bonhams sale room in Edinburgh between the 13th and 14th of April.
