Louis XIV funeral exhibition to be held at Palace of Versailles
The Palace of Versailles is to hold an exhibition dedicated to the funeral and autopsy of Louis XIV.
It will run from October 26 to February 1.
This year marks the 300th anniversary since the death of Louis XIV on September 1, 1715.
The show will feature various artefacts and objects from the period in question that will help to shed light on what the death of the king meant for France.
Louis remains the longest reigning monarch in European history. His 72 year rule led to the development of France as the nation it is today and for that reason he remains an important figure.
