Letters reveal Queen Victoria was an 'early fan' of the telephone
A letter discovered in the BT archives has revealed that Queen Victoria was an early fan of the telephone.
The Queen was given a demonstration of how the telephone works by it's inventor Alexander Graham Bell at Osborne House in the January of 1878. The Queen was so taken with the technology that she asked Graham Bell if she could purchase the two telephones which he used in the demonstration.
