Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Philip signed 1955 Royal Christmas card
-
A 1955 Royal Christmas card hand signed by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip
Queen Elizabeth II (1926 -2022) was Britain's longest-reigning monarch, and the longest-serving female head of state in recorded world history.
Elizabeth and Philip sent out this beautiful Christmas card in 1955, just three years after Elizabeth II became Queen.
The card measures approximately 8" x 7" (16" x 14" when opened) and is in good condition.
With two small pieces of tape affixed to the left-hand side, and minor marks which do not affect the photograph or signatures.
The family portrait features the Royal couple with their young children King Charles III and Princess Anne.
The front cover of the card is blank, save for the Queen's embossed Royal crown crest.
The card is attractively hand-signed by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in black fountain pen ink directly beneath their portrait.
Both signatures are crisp, clear and unfaded.
The positioning of their signatures below the image makes this card an ideal display piece.
