Great Britain 1887 2½d Purple/Blue "Jubilee", SG201c
Great Britain 1887 2½d Purple/Blue "Jubilee", SG201c.
Very fine mint, with original gum, imperforate top left hand corner marginal horizontal pair from setting 1. The left hand stamp shows some light gum creasing, which does not detract from what is a great rarity and probably unique.
The issue is known as the Jubilee issue as its issue appeared during the year Queen Victoria celebrated the 50th Anniversary of her Accession.
GB Specialised Catalogue Number: K31(1)aa.
The Stanley Gibbons Great Britain Queen Victoria Specialised Catalogue, last published in 2011, lists a value of £22,000.
Provenance: Ex Latto, Shaida & Aureum.
