Frank Sinatra (1915 – 1998) was one of the most iconic and influential performers of the 20th century.

Known to his fans as 'Ol' Blue Eyes', or simply ' The Voice', Sinatra has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, making him amongst the biggest recording artists in music history.

He was also a renowned screen actor, winning an Academy Award for his role in From Here to Eternity, and starring in critically-acclaimed films such as The Man with the Golden Arm, The Manchurian Candidate and Guys and Dolls.

Sinatra was later awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Ronald Reagan in 1985, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1997.

In May 1970, Frank Sinatra returned to England for his first live appearances in eight years, backed by Count Basie and his Orchestra.

He performed two sold-out midnight shows at the Royal Festival Hall in London, in aid of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

In attendance were Princess Margaret, president of the charity, along with stars such as Peter Sellers, Michael Caine, Richard Attenborough and the cream of London society.

Those who witnessed the shows described them as a landmark moment in Sinatra's career – a view shared by Ol' Blue Eyes himself.

He later said in a radio interview that he felt the performances were "his finest hour", and was evidently frustrated that they had not been professionally recorded.

According to legend, Sinatra was so desperate for a copy of his performance that night that he personally wrote to the British Sinatra Music Society, asking if anyone had illegally recorded it.

He was apparently in luck, and one member of the society sent him a bootleg tape, receiving a gift from Sinatra in return as thanks.

The typed set-list lists the many classic songs Sinatra performed during the shows, such as 'Fly Me to the Moon', 'The Lady Is a Tramp', 'That's Life' and 'I've Got You Under my Skin', along with his show-stopping encore of 'My Way'.

The single-page list measures 8 x 10", and bears Sinatra's clear autograph in black ballpoint.

The set-list is accompanied by a letter related to the concerts, dated April 13, 1970, and the original mailing envelope.

A rare signed set-list from one of Frank Sinatra's greatest-ever live performances.
