Waikato Philatelic Society is a stamp collecting organisation based in Hamilton, New Zealand.

About the club

Established in 1939, the Waikato Philatelic Society was set-up to promote philately in the Waikato region.

The society describes itself on its website as “a friendly group of keen stamp collectors and welcomes new members.” It currently has around 100 members.

It is part of the New Zealand Philatelic Federation.

Activities

The club’s meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month (except Christmas and January) at 7:30pm.
It meets at St Francis Church Hall, 92 Mansel Avenue, Hillcrest, Hamilton. Parking is available by the Hall (off Mansel Avenue) or in the Church car park (off the Hamilton-Morrinsville Road).
The clubs website describes the meetings as focussing on “discussion on items of philatelic interest, philatelic queries and a sales table.”

Newsletter

The society also has a newsletter, published every two months. Alongside small free advertisements for members, its content includes articles of philatelic interest.
