The Vatican Philatelic Society is an organization for stamp collectors and philatelists specialising in the stamps, covers and postal history of Vatican City.

About the club

The society was founded in Connecticut in 1953 by the philatelist and stamp dealer William Wonneberger.

It has around 400 members in both the United States and Europe, and its members range from beginners to experts with a wide range of philatelic interests. There are also a number of local chapters run by members throughout the United States.

The society conducts an annual meeting each year in conjunction with a national stamp exhibition, and chapters hold regular meetings at a local level.

It also publishes ‘Vatican Notes’, a bi-monthly journal featuring articles, society news and information on all new issues.

In addition, members are able to participate in a bi-monthly postal auction and have the use of a slide program service for individual use or group meetings.
