The New Haven Philatelic Society is a stamp collecting club based in New Haven, Connecticut.

 

About the club

The society was founded in October 1914, and has members of all levels from beginners to experts whose interests cover all areas of philately. It is affiliated with the American Philatelic Society.

Activities

The society’s meetings, held every Tuesday, include presentations and displays, discussions on a wide variety of philatelic subjects and regular auctions.

The society holds a number of competitions for its members including the annual Hitchins competition, named in honour of former society president Dr. C. Stanley Hitchins.

In addition it sponsors the annual SONEX stamp show and exhibition, and runs the monthly ‘4th Sunday of the Month Collectible Show’ which has become one of the largest stamp shows in New England.

The show also features other collectibles such as coins and postcards.
