Finnish Society for Thematic Philately (Stamp collecting club)
The Finnish Society for Thematic Philately is a stamp collecting organization based in Helsinki. The society concentrates on the collection and study of thematic philately.
About the club
The society was founded in 1954, with the intention of preserving and extending philatelic knowledge through exhibitions, meetings and publications.
The society has published a Finnish-language magazine since 1960, and regularly organizes national stamp shows along with other philatelic organizations in Finland.
The society, which currently has 120 members, conducts meetings, publishes a magazine entitled Aihefilatelisti (Thematic Philatelist) and organizes important exhibitions.
The society meetings include a philatelic lecture, discussions on the latest news and the circulation of recent thematic and philatelic magazines and auction catalogues. The meeting also feature the sale and exchange of philatelic materials.
