The Association of Great Britain First Day Cover Collectors is a stamp collecting society for philatelists specializing in British first day covers.

About the society

The Association of Great Britain First Day Cover Collectors (GBFDC) was formed in 1994 to enable people who collect British first day covers to contact each other and learn more about the hobby.

Since then GBFDC has grown steadily and now has 284 members. Most members are in the UK, but an important minority are overseas.

The main activities of the Association are:

  • Producing their own limited edition Official British first day covers , available exclusively to members at issue
  • Publishing a bi-monthly newsletter, "First Day Coverage", sent free to members
  • Holding British first day cover postal / online auctions, open to members and non-members
  • Organising informal regional pub meetings and an Annual General Meeting with an associated British first day cover fair
