A rare imprint and plate number block of six 1893 Columbian $4 stamps just sold for $550,000 at Robert A Siegel in New York. The coolest bit is that only three examples of a $4 plate block have ever been recorded. The stamps were issued in 1893 to mark the World's Fair Expo in Chicago, and were the first ever commemorative stamps to be issued by the US government. That bidder is home celebrating right now :-)

So many World's Fair Expo stamps are among the most valuable stamps in the world. It was like a magic touch or something!
