Lot 96: Two ALSs signed "Bill," both one page, 7.25 x 10.5, Office of the Attorney General letterhead, May 18, 1977. Both letters are addressed to Lee Jones. The first, in part: "I was so pleased to see you—I needed a break—and I've missed our talks. There were two or three things I meant to ask that I didn't. Anyway I appreciate more than you know your leveling with me—for now I have no choice but to work on at this job and hope for the best." Second, in part: "My attorney Dave Greenbaum said he was normally based at Amos Lester's trial…Anyway if you have a report on Amos' or public reaction to the AG's office's role, I'd like to have it." In overall fine condition. Both are accompanied by their original mailing envelopes, addressed in Clinton's own hand.
