Lot 399: Suffragettes. Two original pen and ink and watercolour cartoons by Edouard Covillot, circa 1910, both showing a Cupid figure, the first about to knock on a door with caption 'What luck this time!', the second having been rejected with caption 'Confound it! Another Suffragette', both signed 'Ed. Covillot' lower right, 20 x 12.5cm, together with a double-page colour lithographic print after Bernard Partridge titled Mr Punch's Russian Ballet (taken from Punch's Almanack for 1913), including vignette cartoon studies and one of Prime Minister Asquith as a ballet dancer and 'Votes for Women!' banner being harangued by a chorus of Suffragettes, 28 x 43.5cm (3) Dominic Winter's Travel & Natural History Maps, Prints & Sporting Art Early Printed Books Military History Wednesday, 11th November 2015 Estimate: £100-150
