Lot 292: TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, Supreme Court of the United States letterhead, February 13, 1973. Letter to an admirer. In part: "As to President Johnson, so far as I am concerned he was one of the greatest Presidents we have been fortunate to have and was an individual dedicated to the highest principles of humanitarianism…I have not signed the sheet concerning the Ten Commandments…The reason I have not signed the Ten Commandments is that I consider it to be unnecessary. I was taught the Ten Commandments as a child, tried to live by them all my life and see no necessity for signing them." In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
