Jacob Brown whose name appears on the verso. Four long narrow stains show through although they do not hurt the writing which is nice and bold. “ You will of course say nothing on any of the subjects relating to individuals, on which we conferr’d when you were here, as till a measure is taken, it is always open to reconsideration & new views. I hope you arrive safe & found your family in good health. ” Framed and matted with portrait of Monroe.
