Lot 148: Author: N/A; Title: Telegrams from candidates Kennedy and Nixon to publisher of the Honolulu Advertiser two days before the election; Place Published: Honolulu, Hawaii; Publisher: N/A; Date Published: 22226; Description: Two telegrams, each approximately 4¾x7½", mounted to an 11½x16 sheet above a clipped printing of the two telegrams from the Honolulu advertiser.Candidate Kennedy praises publisher Lorrain Thurston for his "fair treatment of the news" and from Vice President Nixon thanking Thurston for his paper's endorsement. Also included is a campaign letter from the Nixon campaign, signed Dick Nixon at the close, likely secretarial. Condition: Some wear, tape stains, etc.; very good.
