Lot 131: TLS signed "Ike E.," one page, 7 x 10.25, personal letterhead, May 18, 1962. Letter to Mary Naiden, in part: "I know you are distressed as am I that Senator Bush will not run again. It is my hope that the conditions which prompted his decision will eventually be eliminated and that he will resume sharing with the rest of us his much needed talents. You possibly are aware that I, like you, have gone on record as stating that some of the Republican candidates should be relatively young. Certainly there is no dearth in the Republican Party of individuals of the high qualifications, vigor and warm personality I, and I feel sure you, have in mind. Your views on organization are stimulating and indisputable and I hope you will continue your efforts in this direction." In fine condition, with trivial toning and erased pencil notations. Provenance: The Everett Fisher Collection.
