Lot 1240: Hirohito: (1901-1989) Emperor Showa Of Japan 1926-89. A Very Fine D.S., As Emperor, One Page, Oblong Folio (23.5 X 18), Tokyo, Showa 11Th Year (7Th December 1936). The Attractive Partially Printed Document, In Japanese, Grants The Order Of The Sacred Treasure Grand Cross (6Th Class) To Tetsutaro Inoue Of Kyoto University. Boldly Signed By The Emperor In Ink At The Centre. With Several Red Ink Stamps And A Decorative Printed Border Incorporating The Imperial Seal Of Japan. Rolled And Contained In The Original Wooden Presentation Box (Very Small Portion Of The Edge Of The Lid Missing) With Several Japanese Words To The Lid. Accompanied By Three Sacred Treasure Of The Grand Cross Star Medals (Two Accompanied By Their Lapel Pins), Each Contained In Their Small Black Lacquered Presentation Boxes, With Clasps, And With Japanese Text To The Lids. Some Very Light Age Wear And Minor Surface Creasing, Largely To The Edges Of The Document And Not Affecting The Text Or Signature. A Handsome And Rare Document. Vg, 4.
