Sea defences at Sandbanks beach
5th November 2017
I have been photographing landscapes for over 40 years off and on and only recently have managed to put more time into it. Although I have lived in Dorset for many years I am still surprised at the many opportunities there are to take great landscape compositions.

Living, as I do, so close to miles and miles of beautiful beaches and foreshores, I can find many great subjects to photograph. I'm drawn, more and more, to the calm minimalist styled image. This groyne ( a coastal sea defence) offered me an opportunity to make a contrast statement about its purpose. It is there primarily to calm the waves and protect the coastline from erosion.
This image was taken on one of the very best beaches in the UK at Sandbanks just outside Poole. I have a copy of this hanging in my kitchen at home as it is very tranquil looking.
This image can be purchased as a 15"x14" print in a tube or framed. Cost £55 or £75
