Sailing boat leaving Lulworth Cove in Dorset
5th November 2017
My name is Roy Fraser, and I'm a fine art landscape artist from Poole in the South England County of Dorset. I have been a professional photographer for over 40 years. See my website here
I tend to be drawn into the wider aspects of the landscapes in the harshest of conditions. I have no idea why but I can be found by the coast in a storm with a smile! My real preference is to capture coastal seascapes and I'm happy as long as water can feature in my images. Rivers and puddles count too. This image was taken at my very favourite time of the day, dawn! The occupants of this boat had, 45 mins before this image was taken of them leaving, skinny dipping in the cove! The boat just made the image a little more 'special'.
Lulworth Cove is a cove near the village of West Lulworth, on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in Dorset, southern England. The cove is one of the world's finest examples of such a landform, and is a tourist location with approximately 500,000 visitors a year, of whom about 30% visit in July and August.
When I set up to take a picture I like to keep the camera in my bag until I have had an opportunity to assess the location, look for a composition that I like, and wait for the light and conditions to be at their optimum. Then I get to work.
This image can be purchased as a 15"x14" print in a tube or framed. Cost £55 or £75
