Violin exhibition in London
My son has just started violin lessons.
A violin played well is a beautiful instrument. A violin played wildly and wholeheartedly by an eight-year-old boy is enough to make me want to rip my ears off.
I can't talk – I can't play the thing either. It's my husband who is the stringed instrument virtuoso. And it's on his prompting that we're going to see an exhibition of great Italian luthier Vincenzo Panormo's violins this month in London.
Featuring 12 violins, four violas, three cellos and three bows created by the great 18th century maker, it's going to be exciting for hubby, interesting to me, and hopefully an inspiration to our son.
We shall see.
It runs from October 23 to 24 at the Westbury Hotel in Mayfair.
