Unseen images of 'The Smiths' come to light after 32 years
Unseen images of Manchester band The Smiths that were taken 32 years ago have come to light for the first time.
The images were taken by aspiring writer and Smiths fan Colin Howe who wrote to the band's management asking for an interview which he could include in his fanzine 'The Portable Chat Show.'
To his surprise, he received a typewritten letter from front man Morrissey himself(which he still owns) who wrote that he would be 'honored' to talk to the zine before suggesting a date and asking Colin to 'stay handsome forever.'
Howe got his interview and took 18 images of the band-only a few of which were actually used in the zine. The rest were stored in a garage for 32 years before being published for the first time in a book which is being released to raise money for the Salford Lads' Club.
