Rare Smiths t shirt to raffle for the Salford Lads Club
Social housing providers Salix Homes are aiming to raise money for the Salford Lads Club by raffling off a rare Smiths t shirt signed by the photographer who took the famous photograph of the band stood outside the club.
Photographer Stephen Wright has granted the club permission to reproduce the image on a t-shirt for 12 months to raise much-needed funds for the club. So far sales of the t shirt have raised £28,000, though only 6 of the t shirts that were produced have been signed by Wright himself-and now one is up for grabs.
Money raised from the t-shirt sales will be used to fund the Salford Sioux Project - which will see children from the Ordsall estate travel to South Dakota as part of an American exchange.
