Professor to live for a year as David Bowie
A cultural studies professor in London is to live a whole year of his life as David Bowie's different personas.
Will Brooker, who is currently in Bowie's 1974 Philadelphia soul period, hopes to better understand Bowie's mind through the experience.
Brooker's starting point was the 1960's, which involved only watching and listening to the music and films that Bowie would have listened to at the time and nothing else. He even copied Bowie's eating habits-admitting that on some weekends he had only eaten red peppers and milk.
Brooker is looking forward to the 80's incarnation of Bowie, when he will apparantly 'get a tan, get fit, get my hair changed again, get my teeth whitened.'
