Muscle Shoals Documentary Review
A magnificently soundtracked documentary showcases Muscle Shoals, the town in segregationist Alabama that became an oasis of mixed skin colours and musical styles, and a wellspring of hit records for the likes of Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Percy "When a Man Loves a Woman" Sledge, the Allman Brothers, the Rolling Stones, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Dylan and Etta James. A town with a population of 8,000 that punched way way above its' weight!
