Lot 7042: Road manager, assistant, and friend of the Beatles who contributed to several of their recordings (1935–1976). Unsigned handwritten lyrics, one lined page, 8 x 12.75, no date. Entitled "Blackbird" at the top, Evans pens four lines of lyrics: "Blackbird singing in the dead of night / Take these broken wings and learn to fly / All your life you were only waiting / For this moment to arrive." In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, noting that these lyrics originate from the estate of Mal Evans. Evans wrote out the lyrics so that they could be used in the studio during the recording of the song, which appeared on the 1968 White Album.
