Lot 7020: John Lennon Twice-Signed Check
Lot 7020
Highly desirable personal check, 6 x 3, filled out and signed by Lennon, “John Lennon,” payable to cash for $200, February 3, 1970, and endorsed again on the reverse, “John Lennon.” Encapsulated in a plastic PSA/DNA authentication holder. In fine condition. This check dates to a major transition in Lennon’s life—he had left the Beatles in September, though the news would not be made public until April. He commenced work on his debut solo album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, which would be released in late 1970. An exceedingly rare example, this is just the second twice-signed Lennon check we have offered.
Estimate: $7000-8000
