Hey! Ho! Let’s Go! 40 years of the Ramones celebrated in new exhibition
In the April of 1976 the Ramones unleashed their self titled debut onto the world and to celebrate, the Queen's Museum and the Grammy Museum are teaming up to run a two part exhibition that is due to open this week.
The Queens Museum's part of the exhibition will trace the bands roots in the New York suburb of Queens and will include memorabilia such as a recently unearthed early press package and early flyers and lyrics, alongside concert footage and photographs of the band.
Both exhibitions will include the bands guitars, leather jackets, t shirts, posters and memorabilia on loan from the Ramones’ longtime tour manager Monte A. Melnick.
Hey! Ho! Let’s Go: Ramones and the Birth of Punk will be on view at the Queens Museum from April 10 through July 31, 2016, and will open at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles on Sept. 16, 2016, on display through March 2017.
