Next weekend Elvis fans from around the world will descend on Memphis, for the annual week-long celebration of the King's life and career.

Elvis Week 2015 will offer a host of events, from concerts, movie screenings and panel discussions to a grand memorabilia auction and the ninth-annual Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest.

On August 12 Elvis will be commemorated with a new USPS Forever postage stamp, part of the Postal Service’s Music Icon Series. Priscilla Presley will join Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan on Graceland's front lawn for the First‐ Day‐of‐Issue dedication.

For collectors looking to pick up a piece of Elvis memorabilia, where better to look than the Auction at Graceland on August 13 - the most extensive and comprehensive sale ever held at Presley's former home. Rare artefacts up for sale will include a stage-worn jumpsuit

The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Memphis will host the highly-anticipated Elvis Tribute Artist contest, with performers from the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Malta and Brazil all competing for the title of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist. Semi-finals take place on August 11, before the ten chosen finalists battle it out on August 13.

Guest speakers throughout the week will include songwriter Mac Davis, who wrote the Elvis hits 'In the Ghetto', 'Memories',  and 'A Little Less Conversation'; singer Brenda Lee; Presley's close friend, former Shelby County Sheriff Bill Morris; and drummer Hal Blaine, a member of Presley's famous 'Wrecking Crew' backing band.

The cornerstone event of the week will be the Candlelight Vigil on August 15, which sees thousands of fans gather on Elvis Presley Boulevard and walk up to Graceland's Meditation garden to pay their respects to Presley on the eve of the anniversary of his death.

Further events throughout the week will include a screening of Elvis’ movie 'Spinout' with costar Diane McBain, a 5K run, a concert offering a salute to Memphis' musical heritage, and The Elvis in Vegas Tribute Concert featuring Terry Mike Jeffrey.

Elvis Week 2015 takes place in Memphis, Tennessee from August 8 until August 16.
