Beatles Star Club Reel-To-Reel Recorders
The original master recordings from The Beatles infamous tenure at the Star Club are up for auction in Ted Owen & Co's upcoming music memorabilia auction, but for some added joy the original reel-to-reel tape recorder used to make the very same recordings are also part of that same sale.
Included in the lot are the Philips recorder used in the Star Club as well as the grundig recorder used to create an edited, cut down version of the recording to present to Brian Epstein. On top of that, an edited version of the recording is included though it should be mentioned that it isn't the master copy created by Ted Taylor and instead is a copy.
This is probably the first time I've seen a piece of recording equipment linked to such a well known album come up for sale and I'm sure it'll have no trouble at all finding a home!
