World’s second largest Star Wars Collections set to appear at auction

One of the world's largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia and collectibles will appear at auction in the U.S at the end of August. The collection was built Robert Fisher of Pittsburgh, Florida, and features everything from action figures and comic books to posters, bedsheets and mugs collected over a period of more than 30 years.

"My dad jumped on everything that had anything to do with 'Star Wars,'" Robert's 41-year-old son Derek told the local Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "He actually started collecting even before the movie came out. He sent away for a mail-in offer from Kenner for one of the first toys. After that, he didn't stop until almost the day he died last year."

Described as the world's ‘second-largest’ collection, Fisher's Star Wars pieces will be sold in individual and box lots, with 250 to 300 lots hitting the auction block each day. The collection has an estimated value of around $100,000.
