Viva Knievel movie motorcycle for sale
When I was a kid, the thing I wanted more than anything was a toy Evel Knievel stunt bike. Now I'm a grown man, and having just seen this story, all I want is this actual Evel Knievel stunk bike!
This 1976 Ironhead Sportster 1000 motorcycle was used in Viva Knievel!, which is a pretty dumb but great movie, and it was customized by Bud Elkins - a stunt man, motorcycle expert and one of Steve McQueen's best friends. He's the guy you see jumping over the fence in The Great Escape (the only bike stunt Steve didn't perform himself). He also coordinated all the stunts on CHiPs, which makes him cool in my book.
The bike is selling at Bonhams in Las Vegas in January, priced at up to $100,000. Or I could just buy myself the toy version for about $50. I known which one my wife would prefer.
