The Bond songs that didn't quite make the cut
A new BBC radio documentary takes a look back at Bond themes sung by A list musicians that didnt quite make the cut.
Blondie, Johnny Cash and even Dame Shirley Bassey were among the big name stars who submitted versions of the classic Bond themes-only to have them rejected by movie makers.
Somewhat bizzarely, even Alice Cooper wrote a song for Bond film 'The Man With the Golden Gun'-an act which Bond music expert Jon Burlingame described as ''absolutely outrageous''.
The documentary is called 'Somebody Did It Better: the story of the 007 songs that didn't quite make it' and is available to listen to on BBC i Player.
