The T-800 arm is a film prop arm used on the 1984 film The Terminator.
The Terminator is a 1984 film directed by James Cameron starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. The film follows the story of Sarah Connor, who is pursued by a robot sent from the future to kill her and prevent her unborn son becoming the future leader of the human resistance.
The prop was part of two full size Terminator models that were made for the film. The first robot was made for close up shots and the second, which the arm comes from, was made specifically to be blown up at the end of the film. Somehow, the arm survived in good condition.
The arm is approximately 24” in length and is partially articulated. One of the fingers has separated over time due to the soft-wiring of the endoskeleton’s parts to allow it to break apart properly during the explosion scene at the end of the film.
The arm is the largest surviving part of the T-800 robot. It was rescued by a crew member.
An arm from the T-800 robot from Terminator 2: Judgement Day was sold for $10,755 by Heritage Auction Galleries in November 2010.
