Supersized Marilyn Monroe statue on display at Bendigo Art Gallery
Seward Johnson's supersized statue of Marilyn Monroe is being displayed outside of the US for the first time at the Bendigo Art Gallery as part of an exhibition about the actress.
'Forever Marilyn' stands eight meters tall and weighs a massive 15 tonnes. It depicts the famous scene from the Billy Wilder classic 'The Seven Year Itch' in which Marilyn Monroe stands on top of a subway gate causing her dresss to billow up around her.
The statue is to be displayed at the museum for a limited time as part of the exhibition which opens in March.
