Marilyn Monroe negative from first photoshoot to auction
A negative from one of Marilyn Monroe's earliest photoshoots is to auction in Devizes, Wiltshire this weekend.
The image was taken by Joseph Jasgur in the March of 1946 when Monroe was still using her real name Norma Jeane Baker. It was taken as a test shot before the full photoshoot on Zuma beach in California, which is regarded as Monroe's first official modelling shoot.
The image went on to form part of the young Monroe's modelling portfolio which was presented to Ben Lyon, casting director at 20th century fox.
The winning bidder will also recieve full copyright of the image, which is due to go to auction this Saturday with an estimate of £2,000-3,000.
