Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills has announced a forthcoming auction offering The Collection of Dame Joan Collins.

The "auction house to the stars" will present a sale featuring a collection of fashion, jewelry, decorative arts and personal items from the life and career of the award-winning actress and author.

Having starred in more than 60 films and dozens of television programs, Collins remains a TV icon due to her role as Alexis Carrington in the primetime U.S drama Dynasty. At its peak the series was watched by more than 20 million households across America, and was nominated for dozens of awards.

Collins' role played a large part in the show's success, and she was awarded a Golden Globe for her work in 1983. In addition to Dynasty, Collins has appeared in some of the biggest shows in TV history such as Starsky & Hutch, Mission Impossible, Love Boat and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

She has also starred on the big screen alongside some of cinema's greatest performers, such as Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Bette Davis, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck and Kirk Douglas.

Aside from her screen appearances, Collins has proved herself a tireless humanitarian and patron of worldwide charities. Having campaigned on behalf of organizations including the International Foundation for Children with Learning Disabilities and The Shooting Star/Chase charity, Collins was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2015.

Always known for her style, Collins' collection features a wealth of couture dresses, screen-worn costumes, designer fashions, accessories and jewelry, including event-worn gowns designed by Nolan Miller and a custom-made white fox and mink cape designed by furrier Edward Lowell.

The sale will also include memorabilia from her remarkable career, along with fine furnishings, art, antiques and personal items from her homes.

Property from the Collection of Dame Joan Collins takes place in Beverly Hills on Wednesday December 16.
