This week's featured sale comes from Julien's Auctions, and a world-class collection of movie memorabilia from the Osianama Archives, which goes under the hammer in California on March 8. Here are ten of our favourite lots.

Vertigo poster

Estimate: $3,000 - $5,000

This iconic American one-sheet poster for the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock movie Vertigo was created by Saul Bass, the pioneering graphic designer and film maker who revolutionised movie title sequences in the 1950s.

Screen-used Batman Returns penguin soldier 

Estimate: $8,000 - $10,000

This screen-used animatronic penguin puppet appeared in the 1992 Tim Burton superhero sequel Batman Returns, as part of a sinister bird army controlled by Danny DeVito's despicable Penguin (who else?).

Hattie McDaniel signed photograph

Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000

This superb vintage signed photograph features Hattie McDaniel, the first African-American actor to win an Academy Award for her role as Mammy in the 1939 classic Gone with The Wind.

McDaniel has signed and inscribed the photograph to Raoul Walsh, who directed her in the 1941 film They Died with Their Boots On. It reads: "To a grand person - Raoul Walsh, and a great director, from 'Callie' in They Died with Their, etc., Hattie McDaniel, 8/4/41."

Collection of historic Hollywood badges and pins 

Estimate: $8,000 - $12,000

This remarkable collection of approximately 100 pins, badges, and patches originates from numerous movie studios and theatres, and offers a fascinating visual history of vintage Hollywood.

Metropolis program

Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000

This original 32 page Dutch language program, featuring cover artwork by German designer Werner Graul, was produced to celebrate the original 1927 release of Fritz Lang's seminal masterpiece Metropolis.

Aliens Queen maquette 

Estimate: $10,000 - $20,000

This imposing model of the monstrous Alien Queen from the 1986 James Cameron sci-fi classic Aliens was created by the film's production team, as a quarter-scale version of the final terrifying creature that appeared on screen.

London After Midnight lobby cards 

Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000

These two rare original lobby cards were produced for the 1927 Lon Chaney thriller London After Midnight, which has become one of the most famous 'lost' films in Hollywood history after the last surviving copy was destroyed in a fire in the 1970s.

Creature From The Black Lagoon six-sheet poster 

$15,000 - $20,000

This huge six-sheet poster, designed by designed by Reynold Brown, is a rare original example from the 1954 US release of the classic Universal monster movie Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus figure 

Estimate: $20,000 - $30,000

This impressive, life-sized display figure of a venom-spitting Dilophosaurus was created by the award-winning special effects team during the production of Steven Spielberg's 1993 film Jurassic Park.

King Kong poster

Estimate: $30,000 - $40,000

This magnificent and highly rare French Grande (style A) King Kong poster was created by the renowned artist Roland Coudon, for the film's original release in France in 1933.
