Julie Andrews' Turquoise Sound of Music dress

The costume is a turquoise and green cotton leaf pattered dress with leather trim on the collar, cuffs and belt. It includes the handwritten 20th Century Fox label “2-Double 909-24 J. It was created by costume designer Dorothy Jeakins, who was nominated for an Oscar for her work on the film.
In June 2011 the dress was featured in the Profiles in History auction of the Debbie Reynolds Collection of Hollywood costumes and props in Beverly Hills, with an estimated price of $6,000 - $8,000. It was sold for a price of $55,350 (including buyers premium).
