First officially licensed 'Batmobile' due to auction
A car believed to be the first officially licensed 'Batmobile' is up for sale with Heritage Auctions in December.
The car was created by the 23-year-old Forrest Robinson who began building the vehicle in 1960. The car was completed in 1963, a whole two years before before the George Barris customization of the TV Batmobile was started.
The '63 Batmobile' is the earliest known car in existence that was sanctioned by a DC Comics licensee. It will auction on the 6th of December with an as of yet undisclosed estimate.
