eBay charity sale stars Jurassic World Triumph motorcycle
A special Triumph motorcycle from the global summer blockbuster Jurassic World will be auctioned for charity this month.
The bespoke Triumph Scrambler was one of three examples built for the film, to be ridden by actor Chris Pratt in his role as Owen Grady. Pratt can be seen riding the Scrambler through the park, accompanied by his team of trained Velociraptors in one of the film's most famous scenes.
The motorcycle is based on the iconic Triumph Bonneville model, and combines off-road influences with the company's signature twin cylinder, 865cc engine.
One of the Scramblers was presented to Chris Pratt as a gift following filming, after the actor jokingly asked "Hey, people of Triumph, can I have this motorcycle, please?" in a behind-the-scenes video.
The second example is on display at Triumph’s headquarters in the UK, and the third motorcycle will soon be up for grabs on eBay.
All proceeds from the sale will be donated to The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, an annual event which raises funds for prostate cancer research. Now in its fourth year, the event sees motorcyclists in 80 countries around the world get together to ride and celebrate dapper vintage style.
Having already raised $2 million for medical research, the 2015 event hopes to raise more than $3 million – aided in part by the sale of the special Jurassic World Triumph Scrambler.
For anyone looking to grab a stylish off-road motorcycle that's also a piece of cinematic history, the Triumph Scrambler auction goes live on eBay at 7pm GMT on Thursday July 23, and runs for ten days.
