A church in Lakeville got a little more than they expected when an usher donated his house to them-as it contained his lifetime collection of model cars.

Dennis Erickson, a longtime church usher, left his home and its contents to the church after he passed away in December including his 30,000 piece model car collection which is now regarded as one of the largest in the world.

Erickson had began collecting model cars at the age of 9 amassing an extensive and meticulous collection that includes a full size Model T Ford, a ‘59 Edsel and a ’66 Rambler.

Lisa Lundstrom, the church’s chief financial officer and executor of Erickson’s estate, is now looking into selling the collection with most of the proceeds set to go to the Celebration Church.
