Willie Maley Scottish Cup medal Maley is remembered by Celtic fans with an 18-verse song

The latest sale, which closes September 27, features the medal among its highlights as a fantastic piece of memorabilia from one of the most successful managers in Scottish football history.

Maley began his career with Celtic in 1888, the same year that the club played its first ever game. One of Celtic's first midfielders, he also earned two caps as part the Scottish national team in 1893.

In 1897, the board of directors made Maley secretary-manager of Celtic, and therefore, the club's first official manager. He went on to lead the team until 1940,winning 30 major trophies in forty three consecutive years in the role.

He now stands as the longest running boss in the club's history and is fondly remembered by fans with an 18-verse song that frequently resounds around the terraces at Celtic Park.
