A large trestle table has sold for $237,500 over its $30,000-40,000 presale estimate in an auction in Lambertville, New Jersey. The sale happened on Saturday (February 25).

The rare table dates to circa 1901. It was designed by William L Price and came to auction from a private Delaware collector.

According to the table's lot notes, it is unsigned and measures 29 " x 84" x 40". The auctioneer described the desk as "one of the very best statements of the Arts and Crafts Movement in America."

Billed as a "masterwork", the table has starred in "American Homes and Gardens" and "House and Garden magazine" issues published as far back as 1906.
