William and Kate wedding cake up 170% over estimate

The piece of cake from William and Kate's wedding made $705

A piece of cake from the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton has sold for 420 ($705) at Mellors and Kirk in Nottingham, UK.

It achieved an increase of 170% on a 150 ($250) high estimate.

Other pieces of wedding cake from the 2011 event have already achieved significant sums, with one making an impressive $4,160 at Julien's Auctions in November last year.
