2015-07-06 13:40:06

It's been 50 years since Wildlife Photographer of the year was launched-and hasnt it changed! The first ever comp was held in 1964 and has just 50 applicants and was won by C V Roger Dowdeswell for his color photo of a tawny owl carrying prey to its young. Here he is receiving his award from a very young Sir David Attenborough.
