Warhol's Rolling Stones artwork could sell for $253,000 in Miami Beach

Warhol, Dali and everyone's favourite British blues rock band are starring in Red Carpet's next auction

Warhol and Dali are among the big names featured in Red Carpet Auction Event's Convergence of the Arts Auction and Show.

The event will take place at The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami on Saturday, August 20 at 7:30pm,Eastern. Online bidding is also available.

Other featured artists include Mel Ramos, Steve Kaufman, Tom Wesselmann, Takashi Murakami, Romero Britto as well as entire suites of film, music and sports memorabilia from Harrods of London and more.

Among the sale's highlights is Andy Warhol's Love You Live collage. Measuring 20 x 16 inches, the original artwork was produced by Warhol for the Rolling Stones' same-titled live LP.

The Stones' released Love You Live in 1977 during the height of punk.

A different section of Warhol's collage appeared on the album's front cover, to which singer Mick Jagger then added pencil smears - much to Warhol's dismay.

Andy Warhol's artwork for the Rolling Stones' 1977 live album, LoveYou Live (top right); Salvador Dali's Ten Commandments bass-relief(bottom right); and Dali's art for Don Quixote

This section of the collage is unmarked by Jagger's 'collaboration'. The photo transfer on acetate and coloured graphic art paper work is estimated at $253,000.

Also starring alongside Warhol and the Stones is the master of the surreal himself, Salvador Dali.

Dali's Ten Commandments is a gold bass-relief signed and numbered by the artist (one of 150). Itwill sellwith a certificate of authenticity and is estimated at $9,000.

Also auctioning with a similar estimate is Dali's Judgement (one of 300), also signed by the artist, from Historia de Don Quichotte de la Mancha or Don Quixote.

Don Quixote remains one of the most outstanding works ofSpanish andworld literature and was a regular subject of Dali's works. This piece carries an $8,000 estimate and a "suggested retail price" of $8,500.

Considering his status and legacy, Dali works available to collectors with a $20,000 maximum budget appear surprisingly frequently on the collectors markets.

Other examples presently for sale include this stunning sketch (pictured below) of a nude surrounded by various other figures, including a lady's head and what appears to be a hare.

This Salvador Dali nude sketch is for sale with a Certificate of Authenticity. It was previously in the collection of his wife, Gala

Originating from the collection of Salvador's wife Gala Dali, this piece's provenance is exceptional for its 18,000 price tag.

It's also a great example of how, even if you're not a millionaire, Dali's canon offers plenty of opportunities to own lower-priced works that would otherwise be in museums.

What this space for all the latest news from the art markets.
