Vintage Whiting & Davis Mesh Bags are an iconic style of bag produced by the company Whiting & Davis.

Brief history and description

Although Whiting & Davis was founded in 1876, their signature-style metal mesh purses, wallets and coin purses didn't become popular until the early 1900s.

Whiting and Davis mesh bags are easily recognizable because they have elaborate and colourful floral patterns and sometimes have fringes hanging from the bottoms of the bags as well.

Throughout history, Whiting and Davis' mesh bags have been highly sought after by not only collectors, but celebrities and fashionistas as well.

Guide for collectors

Vintage Whiting and Davis mesh bags that are sold with matching coin bags and/or wallets are considered to be the most rare and valuable.

Restoration of a vintage Whiting and David mesh bag is recommended, but only if there is noticeable damage. However, restoring a vintage Whiting and Davis mesh bag may decrease its value.
